Terms of use

Updated:

These terms of use govern the use of the Aviatefinder platform, including the website, booking platform and mobile applications.

1. Platform operator

Aviatefinder is operated by:

Aviatefinder UG (limited liability)
Kuhnkestraße 6

24118 Kiel

Email: contact@aviatefinder.com

Further company information can be found in the legal notice.

2. Role of Aviatefinder

Aviatefinder provides a digital platform through which travellers and pilots can connect, discover private flights, publish flight requests and manage bookings.

For private cost-sharing flights, Aviatefinder is an intermediary platform and not the air operator performing the flight.

3. Registration and user account

A personal user account is required for certain functions.

Users undertake to provide complete and accurate information and to protect their login details against access by third parties.

Personal accounts may not be shared with other people.

4. Special requirements for pilots

Before using certain functions, pilots must provide the evidence required by Aviatefinder.

This may include in particular:

Proof of identity · pilot licence · ratings · medical certificate · aircraft details

Pilots are responsible for ensuring that their documents, ratings and details are valid and up to date.

5. Private cost-sharing flights

Private cost-sharing flights are not commercial scheduled or charter flights.

The direct flight costs are shared among the people on board, including the pilot. The pilot may not make a profit from the flight. Under European rules, such flights may carry a maximum of six people, including the pilot.

The pilot in command remains responsible for planning, decision-making and the safe operation of the flight.

6. Flight offers and Wishflight

Pilots may publish their own flight offers on Aviatefinder.

Travellers may use Wishflight to publish individual flight requests. Pilots can respond with suitable offers.

A Wishflight request alone does not constitute a confirmed flight booking.

7. Booking and payment

Before completing a booking, the traveller is shown the essential flight and price information.

Payments are processed through the payment service providers integrated by Aviatefinder.

The flight-cost share intended for the pilot is generally only released for payout after the flight has been completed successfully.

8. Aviatefinder service fee

Aviatefinder charges a service fee for bookings successfully arranged through the platform.

The specific amount is displayed transparently before the booking is completed.

The Aviatefinder service fee is generally non-refundable once the booking has been completed.

9. Cancellation and refund

A booking may be cancelled before the scheduled flight.

In the event of cancellation, the flight price is refunded in full.

The Aviatefinder service fee already paid is not refunded.

This also applies to cancellations by the pilot and cancellations caused by weather or operational reasons.

10. Rescheduling

The pilot or traveller may propose rescheduling the flight.

A new date only becomes binding once both parties have agreed to the change.

11. Weather and flight decisions

Private flights may be affected in particular by weather, technical conditions or operational restrictions.

The final decision on whether a flight can be operated safely rests with the pilot in command.

A pilot must not be pressured to operate a flight against their safety assessment. This principle also reflects EASA's safety principles for private cost-sharing flights.

12. Conduct on the platform

Users undertake to treat one another respectfully and lawfully.

The following are prohibited in particular:

False information · fraud · manipulation of reviews · harassment · misuse · circumvention of security mechanisms

Where there are reasonable grounds for suspicion, Aviatefinder may temporarily restrict or suspend user accounts or individual functions.

13. Reviews and content

After flights, users may publish reviews and other content.

Published content must remain factual and must not contain unlawful or offensive material or infringe third-party rights.

14. Platform availability

Aviatefinder endeavours to provide the platform reliably.

Continuous, uninterrupted use cannot be guaranteed, particularly due to maintenance work, technical faults or influences beyond Aviatefinder's control.

15. Privacy

Information about the processing of personal data and the service providers used can be found in our:

Privacy policy

16. Reporting problems and violations

Problems involving bookings, users, pilots or safety-related concerns can be reported at any time using our reporting function or by contacting support.

Use the Report a problem page in the Safety section.

17. Changes to these terms of use

Aviatefinder may amend these terms of use where this is necessary due to legal, technical or functional developments.

Registered users will be informed of material changes in an appropriate manner.
